Derek Bell MBE has enjoyed one of the most successful, diverse and wide-ranging racing careers of any British racing drivers. A career which has spanned over 40 years.
Bell is best-known as the consummate endurance sports car driver who won the Le Mans 24 Hours five times and the Daytona 24 Hours three times and the World Sportscar Championship twice.
Bell first raced for Porsche in 1971 as part of the famous JWA factory team, first won Le Mans in 1979 with the Gulf Mirage , then won Le Mans four more times with Porsche between 1981 and 1987. He was also a force to be reckoned with in single-seaters competing in Formula Three, Formula Two and Grand Prix racing. He is considered one of the most successful endurance racers of his era.
